What to pay attention to
What to pay attention to? – preparation and submission of files to be printed
Technical assistance in the preparation of printing materials and placing a print order
In any case, try to send the graphic files as vector pdfs with "curved/embedded" fonts and CMYK colors.
The source of problems may be:
Invalid file format, corrupt file, password protected material, imperfections, bugs such as run-out defects, low resolution images, non-"curved /embedded" fonts, incompatible filters, close-to-crop elements, not the right size.
Submitted material containing such problems will be fully inspected and prepared for processing, but fixes will be made and no further action will be taken until the customer approval is obtained.
Low resolution images, e.g. below 100 dpi are inappropriate for printing. A minimum resolution of 250 dpi is required, but a value of 300 dpi or higher is best.
Because if you zoom in on an image in an editing program, its quality will deteriorate. Let us strive for the highest resolution possible. All graphics are designed with the desired size in mind.
In case you want to print on a white base or overprint an excerpt from a photograph, we must make perfectly black vector graphics of the image.
We do not check the content and text; it is the customer's responsibility to check for mistakes or grammatical errors. Such defects – after production – can only be remedied by remanufacturing, at the cost of the customer. Obviously, before printing, the final printing material (tailored to the customer’s needs) will be sent for final inspection.
The production of the product required by the customer (color accuracy) requires an approved test print signed by the customer. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee the color of the product and we will not accept any claim in that regard!
The following is inappropriate as color reference:
color seen on monitor
color printed on other media (e.g. a photo of a product in a printed catalogue)
a sample printed digitally on proof printer.
No cut size or poorly defined
Without this, we do not know exactly how large the finished product will be or if we are cutting in the wrong place.
At the end of editing, we recommend using the PDF/X standard for saving the file and the options provided there. Be sure to use the program to apply cut marks, do not do it "by hand".
In the case of a run-out, we design the background of the desired graphics by 2 mm beyond the cut size. This is not necessary for direct object printing as there is no crop.
Letters are not curved/embedded
Convert the letters into curves in a graphic program and/or send the font-group to the printer. The second option allows you to quickly fix errors in graphics text. In the first case, the printing press has no option to fix anything, since the letters already appear as a graphic object.
There are countless fonts available, so we may not have the font you want to use in our font-group. If not, the post-print result may not be the same or contain even meaningless content.
We should always try to use the right graphics apps, but avoid using their specific utilities and filters as they may cause problems in the implementation due to their compatibility.
Color spaces are not suitable
We expect CMYK, but if it's different – RGB, LAB, HKS (monitors work with RGB colors). What we see on the monitor may not be acceptable for us in print. In our experience, even color-calibrated monitors show a difference (CRT, LCD, or LED monitors) when seeing the same spectrum.
If color accuracy is very important (for example: Pantone color code), be sure to convert it to CMYK and verify it with sample printing. For digital printing, all colors are made from a blend of four basic colors, so direct color can’t be used. We can talk about the printing of direct colors in sieve, tampon and possibly offset printing technology – traditional ink printing.
Approval of visualization before ordering
Before commencement of production, we always send an e-mail design for review, fixing and approval.
Accepting the visualization is understood as placing an order. We would like to receive that by email.
We do not accept content claims for products made from an approved design.
Unfortunately, errors discovered after production (spelling errors, approval of incorrect design or color matching errors) can only be remedied by remanufacturing, which will be paid by the customer.
